MOBILE EV CHARGING

Charging that comes to the parked car.

Explore mobile charging for sites where installing a fixed charger at every bay is difficult or costly. The charging unit can travel to a parked vehicle; the current workflow still requires a person to connect and disconnect the charging plug.

HOW IT WORKS

A realistic charging journey

Exact capabilities and responsibilities are confirmed for each product and site before a pilot is proposed.

01

Park & request

The driver parks in a suitable bay and requests charging under the site's operating process.

02

Mobile unit arrives

The charging unit is dispatched and navigates to the vehicle within an assessed operating area.

03

Connect by hand

A person takes the connector from the unit and plugs it into the car. The connection is not presented as automatic.

04

Charge & return

After charging, a person disconnects and stows the plug. Return and recharge arrangements depend on the selected system and site design.

POTENTIAL SETTINGS

PILOT DISCOVERY

What we need to establish.

  • Vehicle and connector compatibility, including CCS2
  • Safe routes around pedestrians and traffic
  • Energy capacity, charge rate and replenishment
  • Grid connection or battery energy storage integration
  • Operator training, monitoring and service responsibilities
PROJECT STATUS

P45 Robots is exploring UK pilot opportunities with technology suppliers. A battery energy storage system, including Wenergy/Soundon New Energy products, may be assessed as part of a site-specific energy design; integration and automatic docking would require engineering and supplier confirmation.
